Kansas City, Our Town
David Rielley and wife Berenice Rielley established Reliance Paper in 1959 in Kansas City, Missouri. Reliance was originally a fine-paper business, but the Rielley's quickly found a niche in corrugated boxes (brown paper, if you will). David and Berenice's son, Richard Rielley, worked at Reliance from a very early age, unloading from the rail boxcars that used to run behind the building. Richard owned the business from 1989-2021, passing the outfit on to his son, Seán.

On September 26, 2022, the Missouri State Historic Preservation Office listed our building in the National Register of Historic Places under Criterion A: Commerce.
